Datamine Peru successfully held Datamine Day 2020

On 13 November 2020, Datamine was excited to host “Datamine Day 2020”, an annual event held by the Peru office with the aim of strengthening ties and networking among our main stakeholders. Unlike previous years, the event was 100% virtual and was delivered through the Zoom platform, which attracted attendees from many parts of the world.

The objective of Datamine Day 2020 was to reveal the experience and success stories of different Datamine users. Key clients and stakeholders such as Minsur, Lumina Gold, Compañía Minera Volcan, Southern Cooper Corporation, Anglo American, Pan American Silver Bolivia, Glencore, MARSA, UPC, UTP, MineConsulting and Agnitia Consultores, among others, participated in the event.

The event was divided into six sessions, which focused on Discover, Database Solutions, Modeling and Estimation, Geotechnical Mapping and Models, Underground and Open Pit Planning. In addition, there were two panel discussions with executives and leaders of the mining sector about relevant industry challenges: The Response of Latin American Mining to the COVID-19 Pandemic and The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in the main Consultant and Mining Institutions and Outlook for 2021.

The event concluded with some closing remarks by Dylan Webb, CEO of Datamine, Damian Mckay, CEO of Vela Software and Marcos Calderon, General Manager of Datamine Peru.

We have received great feedback from our stakeholders, and we are looking forward to hosting Datamine Day in 2021.
