Datamine were thrilled to partake in the African Mining Indaba 2020 earlier this year from 3–6 February on the Canada Pavilion in Cape Town. The Mining Indaba is the world’s largest mining investment gathering and attracted over 6,000 delegates.
During the event, we connected with industry professionals from across the industry including innovators, visionaries, as well as established and upcoming mining companies. We took this opportunity to showcase our recently acquired products, MineScape, MineMarket, Production Accounting, and CCLAS. These products are highly complementary to the existing Datamine product range, so we felt it was important to introduce these products to the industry as a part of Datamine’s value chain offering.
The team also attended various panel discussions in and around Mining Indaba to stay up to date with the current challenges faced by the mining industry. The topics explored ranged from ‘Technology & its Role in the Industry’, ‘The Importance of Gender Equality in the Mining Sector’, as well as ‘Tackling the Youth Challenge of Development and Employment’ to mention a few. All very relevant and important topics within the mining landscape.
It was wonderful to meet familiar faces such as Chris Arnold (above), Principal Geologist at AMC Consultants, who has been a Datamine user since 1989 – a loyal customer! Chris spoke highly of Datamine’s customisable products, especially the 3D visualisation improvements which has helped him quickly provide valuable insights into his resource reviews. Chris appreciates that we have streamlined our processes while keeping the essence of our product and ultimately believes there is no mining problem Datamine cannot solve. Chris Arnold, we appreciate your continued support.
Datamine would like to commend CCAfrica for the excellent way they hosted and supported us over the 4-day period of the Mining Indaba on the Canada Pavilion, and at the various networking events. CCAfrica, we salute you and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.
We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the African Mining Indaba this year and hope to build on the connections made and look forward to continually providing superior tools to enhance mining productivity.
