Datamine Africa, in partnership with AngloGold Ashanti, successfully held a 2 Day Conference and 3 Day Workshop on the 16-20 July 2018 at Iduapriem Mine in Tarkwa, Ghana.
The inaugural event aimed to gather industry professionals in the West African region to share knowledge about our current and upcoming software technologies as well as the implementation of best practices in the area of mineral resource management.
“The conference and workshops were a great success with renewed engagement and commitment with users and clients. We look forward to a greater experience in the coming years” – Eben Assan, Datamine West Africa Business Lead.
The 2-day conference covered geology, underground, open pit solutions as well as database management, whilst the following 3 day workshops which were delivered by members of the Datamine Africa staff covered areas such as resource modelling, open pit planning and Discover MapInfo.
As an inaugural event held in the West African region, we garnered great attendance with over 60 participants across the conference and workshops. While the main outcome of the conference was to establish direct and personal contact with our clients in the region, the success and interest gained from the event also resulted in the development of the Level Up Learning workshop and other training initiatives across West Africa.
