The Role: As a Geological Consultant at Datamine, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers by providing technical support, training, and consulting services. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and challenges, ensuring they reach maximum value from their Datamine software products. Your expertise will help customers from the pre-purchase stage through to experienced users requiring advanced assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers, resolving issues and ensuring successful software implementation and usage.
  • Training: Deliver comprehensive training sessions on Datamine software products, both in-person and online, to enhance user proficiency and satisfaction.
  • Consulting: Offer consulting services to help clients optimize their workflows and achieve their project goals using Datamine software.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to understand their requirements, conduct user health checks, and ensure they are well-supported throughout their journey with our products.
  • Product Demonstrations: Collaborate with the sales team to provide product demonstrations, set trial expectations, and develop implementation plans to maximize success rates.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Datamine at industry conferences and events, showcasing our products and services, and networking with industry professionals.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer, providing feedback to the software development team to drive product improvements and innovation.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, training sessions, and support cases in the CRM system.

Qualifications:

  • Education: University degree in Geoscience, Geology, or a related field (BSc or MSc).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the mining industry, with a strong background in geological modeling and data management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Datamine software products and 3D geological modeling including geostatistical analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and team members.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 40% to deliver training and support services to customers and attend industry conferences and company sponsored events.
  • Location: This role can be based in any of our key North American locations (Sudbury, Toronto, Vancouver or Denver) with the flexibility to work remotely.

Languages: Fluency in English is required. Additional languages such as French or Spanish are considered an asset.

“The salary range offered for this role is USD $60,000 – 90,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.”
