Datamine are excited to release our next generation of the MK Series. The new MKIII underground stereo camera rig is a purpose-built system designed for the efficient image collection of underground rock faces. It is significantly lighter, smaller and more durable than its predecessors.
Built to complement our software mapping tool, Sirovision, the MKIII makes underground image capturing quick and easy with almost no set-up time required, whilst being rugged enough to withstand the harshest of underground conditions. We understand the risks and dangers of working in an unpredictable underground environment and the ever-growing need for more efficient equipment and tools for underground mapping. With the MKIII, you can get in and out the mine faster with a lighter rig that is transportable with one hand, and encases two small, but powerful cameras within an air-tight, nitrogen-filled case.
Differences & Improvements Between the MKIII & MKII
MKIII Outputs Into Sirovision
The MKIII seamlessly integrates with Sirovision, enabling a greater level of automation that facilitates faster image downloading, as well as automatic image backup and deletion functions, removing the need for manual housekeeping. Designed as an essential part of the underground mapping workflow, the MKIII reduces the average time spent at the face with a new design which is lighter, faster and more maneuverable than previous models.
Technical Development at Camera Clinic
Ian Anderson, Sirovision Product Manager, travelled to Melbourne, Australia to have a chat with Wayne Rogers, Owner of Camera Clinic and Imaging by Design. He explained how the MKIII was built, what makes it so solid on the outside and yet powerful on the inside. We are happy to have partnered with such an experienced and passionate team to develop the next generation of our MK Series.
Tried & Tested at Evolution Mining
Before the official release, we took one of our test rigs to Evolution Mining – Cowal Mines in West Wyalong, Australia to show Chris Browne, Project Manager, the huge improvements made on the new rig. As a site that was currently using the MKII, it was a worthwhile trip for our team to showcase the vast differences in size, build and performance of the MKIII compared to the MKII. We would like to thank the team at Cowal Mines for their wonderful hospitality and great feedback on the rig.
With the official release late last year, our team are currently busy giving demos in different parts of the world, as well as fulfilling orders for the MKIII that were placed even before its release date! As our team are busy travelling around with the new rigs, this is a great opportunity to see if you qualify for a test demo at your site or even online. To enquire about a demo, please visit our webpage below and fill in the enquiry form. See for yourself why the MKIII is in such popular demand in mine sites globally.
