Vela Industries Group’s Datamine is delighted to announce the acquisition of iRing Inc., the creators of Aegis – a market-leading underground drill and blast package.

iRing Inc. is a global leader in the development of underground drill and blast planning software which helps those working in mines improve effectiveness and efficiency.

Vela Industries Group’s Chief Operating Officer John Bailey welcomes iRing Inc. and said the acquisition is a natural progression from a long-standing reseller partnership.

“As a distributor of Aegis since 2012 when it was first released, we have valued this fantastic solution from the beginning and we are really excited to have iRing join us under the Datamine umbrella,” John Bailey said.

“Aegis was first to market with tools to automate ring design, and today, continues to lead the market with Aegis Analyzer – functionality to compare several blast outcomes using industry-recognized analysis models.”

iRing Inc. President Troy Williams said with a guarantee of at least five times increase in ring planning productivity over the current generation of ring planning tools, the acquisition with Datamine will assist to expand this benefit to a wider audience.

“What we have discovered is when we turn the blast into a repeatable industrial process then the overall costs and environmental impact are reduced substantially, while also allowing for increased rates of production,” Troy Williams said.

“By joining Datamine, we aim to share our revolutionary software – as well as our expansive expert knowledge – with more people than before, helping engineers to prioritise engineering blasts instead of drafting.”

“This is an exciting step forward for our team and we are looking forward to what is ahead for iRing Inc.”

iRing Inc. has officially joined the Datamine team from January 3, 2023.
